Banana Sheera Recipe

Banana Sheera Recipe Ingredients:

  • Roasted Semolina – 1 ½ cup
  • Banana – 2 cups (3 banana’s)
  • Cardamom Powder – ½ tsp. (2 to 3 cardamom seeds)
  • Almonds – 1 cup ( 8 to 10 almonds)
  • Cashews – 1 cup (8 to 10 cashews)
  • Raisins – 1 cup (10 to 12 pieces)
  • Saffron Strands – ¼ tsp.
  • Sugar – 6 tbsp.
  • Ghee – 3 tbsp.
  • Milk – 1 cup
  • Warm Water – 1 cup

Note: You can use Jaggery in the place of sugar. You may use milk powder. You can try patanjali’s cow ghee. Also, you may use other dry fruits.

Banana Sheera Recipe Steps:

Pre-Preparation:

  • Using chopping board/chopper, chop Dry Fruits: Finely chop the cashew nuts, raisins, and almonds into fine pieces.
  • Roast Dry Fruits in ghee. Keep them aside in a bowl.
  • Roast the Semolina in ghee.
  • Stir and wait for Semolina to change color.
  • Let the semolina cook 15 minutes.
  • Wash and peel off the banana skin.
  • Chop them into small pieces.
  • Mash the banana properly with the back-end of the fork.

Note: You can also use leftover ripe bananas. Do not burn the semolina and allow it to cool down before mixing. Mashing the banana is not compulsory.

Preparation:

  • Take a large saucepan and place it over a medium flame. Heat the oil.
  • Wait till the oil gets heated, add the roasted semolina. Fry the semolina.
  • Stir for 5 minutes till it becomes golden in color.
  • Add the chopped bananas into the semolina mixture when it releases an aromatic fragrance.
  • During this time, add the roasted dry fruits with milk and water.
  • Stir well the mixture.
  • Simmer it for 5 minutes after adding two cups of sugar.
  • Once cooked, sprinkle the saffron strands over the ready Sheera.
  • Take from the pan and transfer to a plate.

Note: To avoid Sheera from being spoiled, it is preferred to use roasted semolina.
