How to Make Tomato Sauce at Home : Quick and Easy Guide!

Tangy tomato sauce not only enhances the taste of the food but it gives a complete package of taste to the one who desires to have it. I think the most versatile item of any culinary food is sauce. It can be combined with anything.

Ingredients for Making Tomato Sauce at Home :
Tomato- 5 cup
Sugar- ½ cup
Salt- ½ tsp
Red chili powder – ½ tsp
Sodium benzoit – ½ tsp
Vinegar – 2 tbsp
Cinnamon/dalchini – 1 stick
Cloves/ laung/ laving – 3 pieces
Black pepper powder- 1 tsp
Crushed garlic – 2 tsp
Steps for Making Tomato Sauce at Home :
For Potli ( Packet )
Combine cinnamon, cloves, garlic in a muslin cloth , tie a knot and keep aside
For Sauce
Chop tomatoes in big pieces.
Add tomatoes and prepared potli in a pressure cooker and cook for up to 3-4 whistles without adding water
Open the lid after the air from the pressure cooker releases on its own now squeeze the potli in the boiled tomatoes to remove the extracts of it and then discard the potli.
Cool the tomatoes.
Now blend it in a fine and smooth paste in a mixture grinder or by a hand blender.
Strain it using a strainer
Pour the paste in a non stick pan and put it on a stove. Now add sugar, salt, red chili powder, black pepper powder, vinegar and boil it for 15-17 minutes.
Boil until it coats the back of the spoon or becomes half of its quantity.
Let it cool
Now add sodium benzoit, mix well and store in a clean and air tight container in a refrigerator.
